Desert Hills Bible Church | Resurrection Sunday at Desert Hills

Resurrection Sunday at Desert Hills

Resurrection Sunday is the most glorious Sunday of the year, the day that Jesus rose from the grave and conquered sin and death. We are living in unprecedented times when our traditional gathering is difficult, if not impossible, for some people. And yet we still want to remember and celebrate the resurrection of Christ as a church family. How can we make a celebration available to the largest number of people in our church body so that we can meet and rejoice in what Jesus has done while upholding our state guidelines for physical distancing to protect one another and fellow Arizona residents from the coronavirus?

Desert Hills is excited to announce that this year we will be hosting Easter on the Lawn. This Sunday we will gather to celebrate Christ’s resurrection on the north lawn and sand volleyball court of the church at 10:00am. We encourage you to bring a blanket and lawn chairs for you and your family. Spread out on the church grounds and come ready for a unique and exciting opportunity to worship Christ together while maintaining appropriate physical distancing. Sanitized chairs and shade will also be provided for those who need them. We also will have parking spaces reserved for those who want to gather for worship but are higher risk for COVID-19. You will be able to participate in the service from your vehicle, allowing you to be with your church family while keeping necessary physical distance from others.

Please note that our service begins this week at 10:00am rather than our usual time of 10:30. The weather will be beautiful, and starting earlier allows us to end the service before it begins to get warm in the afternoon. We are working hard to ensure we have a livestream for those who cannot attend.

We are grateful for the freedom to gather for worship, especially in difficult times. I look forward to seeing you this Resurrection Sunday as we remember that He is risen; yes, He is risen indeed.
