Plan Your Visit to DHBC

We’re excited you want to join us on the Lord’s Day for one of our worship services. Here are a few pieces of information to help you plan your visit to Desert Hills.

Which service should I attend?

We have three identical services on the Lord’s Day morning – 8:15am, 10:00am, and 11:45am. You are welcome to attend any of these services. If you need to use the nursery (birth through two years old), we have a nursery available during the first two services. Our children’s Sunday school and adult fellowship groups meet during the 8:15 and 10:00 services.

Where should I park?

Anywhere you can find an open space! We’d recommend arriving a few minutes early if you want to park near the worship center entrance. Our back lot is in progress of being added. We also have overflow parking available in the parking lot to the west of the church campus by the Dental Depot and in the parking lot of the daycare to the east of the church campus should you arrive and find the parking lot full. You can also park across the street but please make sure you leave plenty of room for the resident’s driveway. Please do not park in the State Farm parking lot.

Will I be required to wear a mask or distance from others?

No, we do not mandate any kind of physical distancing or masking, but we do ask you to be mindful that some people prefer not to shake hands or have physical contact with others at this time and some people prefer to wear masks. We simply ask that everyone who attends respects one another’s preferences. If you want to wear a mask, wear one and be understanding of those who do not wear masks. If you do not want to wear a mask, don’t wear one and be understanding of those who choose to wear one. In this way we can show love to one another and preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Do I need to register to attend or notify you in advance that I plan to visit?

No, we do not have a registration system for attending our services. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you or a member of your household is ill with a fever or other symptoms of contagious illness, please join us via livestream until everyone in your household is healthy again.

What do you have for my kids?

During the 8:15 and 10:00 services, the nursery is open for children birth through two years old. Children’s Sunday school classes take place during the 8:15 and 10:00 services alongside the Fellowship Groups. When parents attend the worship service, we encourage them to have their kids attend with them whenever possible. Some children have trouble sitting still through the entire service, so we have a video room available in the church library for parents whose kids get restless during the service. Feel free to step out for a few minutes and watch the service from the library while your children settle down. They will quickly learn to enjoy the service with you, but it might take a couple of weeks for that to happen, and we completely understand that. We are used to kids in our service, so if they’re a bit noisy from time to time, it doesn’t bother us a bit.

What should I wear?

During our worship services you will see people dressed in suits and ties, dresses, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, and everything in between. We simply ask you dress in a way that seeks to honor the Lord.

We hope these tips to plan your visit to Desert Hills are helpful, and we look forward to meeting you this Lord’s Day!
