We’re excited you want to join us on the Lord’s Day for one of our worship services. Here are a few pieces of information to help you plan your visit to Desert Hills.
Which service should I attend?
We have two identical services on the Lord’s Day morning – 8:30am and 10:30am. You are welcome to attend either service. If you need to use the nursery (birth through two years old), we have a nursery available during the 10:30 service. Our 8:30 service is less crowded than the 10:30 service, so if you prefer more space or the ability to distance from others, we would recommend you join us at 8:30 for worship.
Where should I park?
Anywhere you can find an open space! Parking is readily available during the 8:30 service, but the parking lot fills up quickly for the 10:30 service. We’d recommend arriving a few minutes early if you want to park near the worship center entrance. We also have overflow parking available in the parking lot to the west of the church campus by the State Farm building should you arrive and find the parking lot full.
Will I be required to wear a mask or distance from others?
Masks are not required at Desert Hills although we do have masks available by the worship center entrance doors for those who want them. We do not mandate any kind of physical distancing, but we do ask you to be mindful that some people prefer not to shake hands or have physical contact with others at this time. We simply ask that everyone who attends respect one another’s preferences. If you want to wear a mask, wear one and be understanding of those who do not wear masks. If you do not want to wear a mask, don’t wear one and be understanding of those who choose to wear one. In this way we can show love to one another and preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Do I need to register to attend or notify you in advance that I plan to visit?
No, we do not have a registration system for attending our services. Anyone is welcome to attend. We do ask that if you or a member of your household is ill with a fever or other symptoms of contagious illness that you join us via livestream until everyone in your household is healthy again.
What do you have for my kids?
On Sunday mornings, children stay with their parents for worship. During the 10:30 service, the nursery is open for children birth through two years old. Some children have trouble sitting still through the entire service, so we have a video room available in the church library for parents whose kids get restless during the service. Feel free to step out for a few minutes and watch the service from the library while your children settle down. They will quickly learn to enjoy the service with you, but it might take a couple weeks for that to happen, and we completely understand that. We are used to kids in our service, so if they’re a bit noisy from time to time, it doesn’t bother us a bit.
We hope these tips to plan your visit to Desert Hills are helpful, and we look forward to meeting you this Lord’s Day!
