Becoming a member is a serious commitment before God to a particular local body and, like marriage, should not be entered into—or ended—casually.
This commitment is based upon our oneness in Christ, which transcends theological and other differences concerning nonessential doctrines of the faith.
Membership at Desert Hills means that you are joining with other local Christians as a family, mutually seeking to become like Christ. Membership in a family involves:
Step 1 – Attend a Getting to Know Desert Hills class. This class is designed to help you understand the beliefs, history, and distinctives of Desert Hills Bible Church. It is offered periodically throughout the year and is required for anyone seeking membership at DHBC. You can indicate your interest by completing the connect card here, visiting the Welcome Center, or contacting the church office.
Step 2 – Complete a membership application. After attending the class and submitting your application, a membership interview with a pastor will be scheduled. During this meeting, he will review your application and answer any questions you may have about the church or the membership process. The meeting typically lasts 45 minutes to one hour.
Step 3 – Your application will then be reviewed by the elders. Upon unanimous approval, you will be welcomed into membership, assigned a shepherding elder, and later presented to the congregation during a designated Sunday worship service.
